| Program Notes: | The Four Serious Pieces are both portraits and technical studies; each one is inscribed to a friend who was also a violin student at the time. Begun the 9th of March, 1991, the set was completed only three and half hours before the premiere, which I gave in Akron, Ohio on April 17th, 1991. RZ a recent performance in Cleveland November 2019 |
