night and starlight will be performed by the
Tuscarawas Philharmonic and Eric Benjamin, music director, on April 10, 2010 Saturday at 7:30 pm.
Also on the program is the Ohio premiere of Eric Benjamin’s setting of Emily Dickinson:
“Hope is the thing with feathers” with the Oberlin College Women’s Chorale under the direction of Dr. Jody L. Kerchner, and three movements from Holst’s The Planets.

interwoven graces
The Phoenix Concerts celebrates its fifth season with The Hymn Tune Project, ten premieres commissioned for its new Ensemble-in-Residence, The Finisterra Piano Trio.
Zahab's interwoven graces will be paired in concert with the original works that inspired it, performed by vocalists Gilda Lyons and Elaine Valby, in this one-hour program.

- a chamber opera version of Charles Dickens'
A Christmas Carol with flexible instrumentation and production formats. scored for violin, viola, cello, piano and percussion, other options include handbells (for the carols) and flute. The vocal score will be arranged for piano four-hands.

A New Choral Work
Roger has been commissioned to write a work for the Music & Architecture Project at Calvary Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh. The result, Be Joyful, is a setting of the last words of Saint David of Wales for SATB choir and organ with optional solo violin and cello parts. It will be premiered on All Saints Day, Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Calvary Episcopal Church under the direction of Alan Lewis.
