The Phoenix Concerts celebrates its fifth season with The Hymn Tune Project, ten premieres commissioned for its new Ensemble-in-Residence, The Finisterra Piano Trio.
Zahab's interwoven graces will be paired in concert with the original works that inspired it, performed by vocalists Gilda Lyons and Elaine Valby, in this one-hour program.

A New Choral Work
Roger has been commissioned to write a work for the Music & Architecture Project at Calvary Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh. The result, Be Joyful, is a setting of the last words of Saint David of Wales for SATB choir and organ with optional solo violin and cello parts. It will be premiered on All Saints Day, Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Calvary Episcopal Church under the direction of Alan Lewis.

Nathalie Shaw in concert
The brilliant British violinist Nathalie Shaw will perform a concert with pianist Robert Frankenberry at the University of Pittsburgh's Frick Fine Arts Auditorium on Sunday, July 26th at 3 pm. Roger will assist on violin and viola.
